small losses in europe have turned into big ones. but asian stocks did finish off their lows of the day. south korea's benchmark off 3.6% after plummeting nearly 10% in trades. japan's nikkei was down less than 2%. we did see smaller losses in europe but the sell-offs have now accelerated with major markets off between 2 and 4.5%. we saw a rally in the u.s. futures trading market but that seems to be evaporating at this point. of course, all of this comes down after the carnage on wall street yesterday. fear that the economy is headed into another recession cut through stocks like a buzz saw through butter. the dow off almost 634 points. that's a loss of 5.5% by the close. we stand this morning at 10,809 . nasdaq lost almost 175 points or 6.9%. s&p 500 was off 6.6%. investors lost a trillion dollars in the stock market yesterday. that has a lot of folks wondering is this 2008 all over again? three years ago, the selling focus on financial stocks and bonds linked to the mortgage market. this time around, here's -- has to do with the r
